separation of normally related mental processes, resulting in one group functioning independently from the rest, leading in extreme cases to disorders such as multiple personality.
Part 4:

The Subject of the Album's mental state has deteriorated so much so that the noise/distortion that is constantly coalescing within their head starts to overtake their normally rational & positive thoughts and starts to affect how they perceive their surroundings, often forgetting where they are, not realizing they have tuned out of what's happening (whether it be social events or everyday goings on), and/or are staring at the back of their eyeballs (so to speak). Everything becomes a blur until the subject realizes that they aren't where they're supposed to be, and slowly comes back to reality, only to subconsciously continue the cycle over and over throughout the day until it is time for sleep. Sometimes the noise/distortion overwhelms the subject and results in a breakdown, often leaving them with feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, doubt, hatred of themselves, discouragement from their goals, and feelings of emptiness from the high expectations they have for themselves.
